Position Overview
HHA Medicine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospitalist Physician to join our clinical team in Plantation, Florida. As a Hospitalist, you will provide comprehensive inpatient care, managing the medical needs of hospitalized patients from admission through discharge. This role offers the opportunity to practice evidence-based medicine in a collaborative environment while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, including admission, daily rounds, and discharge planning
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions in the inpatient setting
- Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record system
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based clinical guidelines
- Respond to urgent and emergent patient care needs during assigned shifts
- Collaborate with case management and social services for appropriate discharge planning and transitions of care
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Training Required
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree or foreign equivalent
- Completion of ACGME accredited residency training in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Licensure Required
- Eligibility for Florida medical license
Clinical Skills
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in managing complex medical patients
- Experience with electronic health record systems
- Excellent procedural skills appropriate for hospitalist practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hospitalist or inpatient medicine experience
- Additional certifications in critical care or geriatrics
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish preferred)
- Experience with quality improvement programs
Note: Medical doctor degree or foreign equivalent, completion of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited residency training in either internal medicine or family medicine, and eligibility for Florida medical license required.
